新的期刊出版型態出現

短文出版形式在政治學門出現了:以後學門的知識生產速度應該會更快,出版上的競爭會更激烈。

CALL FOR "SHORT ARTICLE" SUBMISSIONS

The Journal of Politics is pleased to accept submissions for a new "Short Articles" section. This section will appear as necessary, in accordance with the volume of high-quality submissions received. Like standard articles, these brief contributions will appear in both the print and online editions of the Journal. Short paper submissions will be limited to 10 pages, double spaced — and must follow the formatting guidelines laid out in the instructions to authors.

The Editorial Team encourages authors to submit original papers with narrower substantive focus and replications of important findings. The goal of this additional section is to promote the dissemination of ideas and findings that would otherwise be ignored because of the prioritization of novelty at general interest political science journals. In light of a growing body of research about publication bias, the Editorial Team has elected to provide authors with an opportunity to submit high-quality work that makes narrower — but critically important — contributions to existing areas of research.

Authors who have questions about the appropriateness of their submission for the short paper section are encouraged to contact the Journal at jop@usc.edu.
